Dead Space (Remake)

A faithful, stunning rebuild of the 2008 survival horror classic. The USG Ishimura is more terrifying than ever — and the new story additions make it the definitive version.

The Dead Space remake is exactly what a remake should be: faithful to what made the original great, honest about its dated elements, and willing to add enough to feel essential even for veterans.

The USG Ishimura — a ghost ship overrun by reanimated necromorphs — remains one of gaming’s greatest horror settings. The remake rebuilds it as a single connected space with no loading screens, making the ship feel like a real place. New rooms, expanded lore, and a zero-G combat system that’s been substantially improved give returning players genuine surprises.

Isaac Clarke is now voiced and given more character, his relationship with Nicole better developed. The new side mission content that explains the Ishimura’s fate is excellent.

Necromorphs are still the gold standard of horror enemy design: they require strategic dismemberment, they’re fast, and the sounds they make will follow you.

Why PixelPick recommends it: The definitive version of a classic. Essential for horror fans, and a perfect entry point for newcomers.
